Another significant update.Tables
- there is now a column-span attribute (along with a new Table style item including the cell-column-span backing property).Fonts
- The default font has changed to Arial rather than Helvetica. This is as most machines will have the OpenType Arial font available, and we have improved the speed of text layout 5 fold using installed OpenType fonts.
If Helvetica is specified (or the other built in fonts) then this will still be honoured, but we'd recommend switching to their available cousins (Arial, Times New Roman, Courier New).Pre and Para
these components now inherit from Panel rather than Div. Inferred styles in your documents may be affected. But they are now independent of explicit div styles (Pre is also set as not to split, and not full width - you can of course revert this with your style sheets).Character mappings
. We are now correctly using the Windows cmap in the font file rather than the Mac Roman, which could show as incorrect characters in the resultant PDF display.Date and Number
. 2 new components for outputting (and binding) numeric and date formats including cultural specific format.XSD's
are now extensible, so you can include a stylesheet for your own components, and the XML editor will pick these up. Look out for our extensions coming soon at http://www.scryber.co.uk
Also includes a multitude of improvements to the layout engine to improve the predicability of flowing content.
